What exactly is the NEET UG Exam? The National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET) is an all-India entrance examination for admission to MBBS that is held once a year.

According to the NMC Act, 2019, the NEET Undergraduate (UG) is the single entrance exam for admission to all medical colleges across the country, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).

From 2012 onwards, the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) was superseded by the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (UG), abbreviated as NEET-UG.

NEET UG 2022 is a competitive entrance exam administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes until 2018.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) was founded as a prominent, specialized, autonomous, and self-sustaining testing organization to implement entrance tests seeking enrolment in institutions of higher learning.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is a newly constituted entity by the center that will conduct NEET-UG entrance exams beginning in 2019, taking over administration of these exams from CBSE and other boards.

NEET UG 2022, is India's largest undergraduate medical entrance exam, with over 15 lakh applicants taking it. One may easily envision the degree of competitiveness with around 85,000 MBBS seats only.

Because NEET, unlike JEE Main, is only held once, medical candidates are compelled to put all of their eggs in a single basket.

Furthermore, with the elimination of state medical admission exams as well as institute-level admissions for AIIMS and JIPMER, the scenario has become even more critical for students.

According to last year's data, 56% of NEET candidates cleared for the exam. All of these factors contribute to the need for NEET to be administered twice a year.

Over the last three years, students have consistently expressed a desire for NEET UG 2022 to be administered twice a year. The NEET UG 2022 exam administrators are also considering the concept, but have yet to make a final decision.

The Ministries of Education and Health will soon restart talking about conducting NEET twice a year. The issue was first explored a year ago under the supervision of Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, a previous minister of education, but no agreement has been reached.

Learn about the advantages that medical students will have if NEET UG 2022 exam is held twice a year in this post.

Why Should NEET UG 2022 exam Be Conducted Twice?

1. Having NEET UG 2022 exam twice a year will save an academic year and help gain entrance to a college and course of their choice after two attempts.

2. Increases Admission Chances: Because the ratio of NEET UG 2022 takers to MBBS seats is low, there is a high level of rivalry.

Candidates will have a higher chance of securing a prestigious medical college seat if they take the NEET twice.

3. Better Preparation: Having two opportunities in NEET UG 2022 exam would also enable students prepare more effectively. They would not only have more time to prepare, but they will also be able to strategize more effectively.

In reality, they will have more time to get ready because they would have two chances to study. If they feel unprepared, they can choose a second date.

And, if they attend for the first slot and believe that their performance was inadequate, they can opt for a second attempt with a stronger NEET UG 2022 exam preparation technique, as well as the knowledge they gained in the first attempt.

4. Saves a Year: After an unsuccessful NEET UG 2022 attempt, students typically seek admission to another degree that they do not favor while simultaneously preparing for NEET UG 2022 for the next year, or they skip a year to start prepping and retake the exam.

5. Reduces Student Tension: As previously indicated, holding a single medical admission exam for one day and time narrows the possibility of success and produces unnecessary stress among candidates.

As a result, it is critical to increase the odds of them taking NEET UG 2022 in order to help students deal with the extra stress.

6. Convenience in Exam Schedule Selection: With the option of taking two NEET UG 2022 exam tries, applicants will be able to choose an exam day that is convenient for them.

While some may want to choose the first slot for practice and then take the next one as a final try, others may opt to attend for the second slot only after thorough preparation.

Another group of applicants might tend to take the first exam and succeed. The ability to choose the NEET exam 2022 date will also allow them to better plan their preparation and balance it with their boards.
