      TIPS TO ACE GOOD MARKS IN CLASS 9 EXAMS-

      • Plan a proper schedule according to the topic according its weightage in exams, and consider your strengths and weaknesses in your mind

      • Set daily targets or make a to-do list. 

      • Follow that schedule consistently. 

      • Practice Mock tests.

      • Set a timer while solving or practising.

      So it’s not only about theoretical knowledge you need to ace good marks in your class 9th but also Practical knowledge so here is the CBSE Class 9 Science Syllabus of Practicals. 

      Unit I: Matter – It's Nature and Behaviour

      Preparation of:

      a) a true solution of common salt, sugar and alum
      b) a suspension of soil, chalk powder and fine sand in water
      c) a colloidal solution of starch in water and egg albumin/milk in water and distinguish between these on the basis of:
      transparency

      filtration criterion

      stability
      Preparation of

      a) A mixture

      b) A compound

      using iron filings and sulphur powder and distinguishing between these on the basis of:

      (i) appearance, i.e., homogeneity and heterogeneity

      (ii) behaviour towards a magnet

      (iii) behaviour towards carbon disulphide as a solvent

      (iv) effect of heat

      Perform the following reactions and classify them as physical or chemical changes:

      a) Iron with copper sulphate solution in water

      b) Burning of magnesium ribbon in air

      c) Zinc with dilute sulphuric acid

      d) Heating of copper sulphate crystals

      e) Sodium sulphate with barium chloride in the form of their solutions in water

      (f) Determination of the melting point of ice and the boiling point of water.

      Unit II: Organization in the Living World

      Preparation of stained temporary mounts of 

      (a) onion peel, 

      And

      (b) human cheek cells and recording observations and drawing their labelled diagrams.

      Identification of Parenchyma, collenchyma and Sclerenchyma tissues in plants, striped, smooth and cardiac muscle fibres and nerve cells in animals from prepared slides. Draw their labelled diagrams.

      Unit III: Motion, Force and Work

      Checking the validity of sound reflection laws.

      Measuring the density of a solid (heavier than water) by means of a spring balance and a measuring cylinder.

      Establishing a correlation between the weight loss of a solid when completely submerged in:

      Tap water

      Highly salty water, using at least two different solids and comparing with the weight of displaced water.

      Measuring the speed of a pulse transmitted through a taut string or a helical spring (slinky).

      Confirming the principle of conservation of mass in a chemical reaction.
