For a decade now it has been discussed and debated amongst the educators and policymakers in our country to conduct an exam which will serve as an authentic entry-level test for all central universities.
This year that exam is finally going to happen. Common University Entrance Test (NTA CUET 2022 Exam) which was earlier called the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) was first conducted in 2010 on a trial basis to get admission into seven central universities for only 1,500 seats in undergraduate, and postgraduate and integrated courses.
After a gap of 10 years, the National Testing Agency conducted the exam again in 2021 but only for Postgraduate Courses.
Today in 2022, as a part of the National Education Policy 2020, CUET has been reintroduced making it to be a mandatory exam for all 44 central universities across the country.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam will be a single-window multi-university test which will nurture an equal ground of opportunities for students across the country seeking admission into the prestigious central universities of our country.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam will primarily widen the scope of quality higher education to rural and other remote areas of our country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the most important entrance exams in our country i.e. JEE Mains, NEET, UGC NET etc. has been entrusted with the great responsibility to conduct this one of its kind exams.
The NTA CUET 2022 Exam’s registration process, the conduct of the test, release of the answer key, and preparation & declaration of the final scorecard will be handled by the NTA.
While participating universities will make the final merit list and will conduct individual counselling. NTA CUET 2022 Exam scores will be accepted by 44 Central Universities and other private universities.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode with 13 Indian language mediums of instructions.
To make the students from rural and remote areas comfortable with taking Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) the NTA will set up a network of Test Practice Centers (TPCs).
This facility will be completely free. Students can register online (on the NTA website) to book a slot with a convenient TPC near their location to practice on the computer.
The whole experience of using a computer will give them an actual experience of taking CBT so that students can familiarize themselves with logging into the system, reading detailed instructions regarding the NTA CUET 2022 Exam, and using the mouse or numeric keyboard to attempt each question.

Earlier if for some reason a student’s board result was spoiled he/she didn’t have the second choice to still get into the college of their dreams. Many students had to adjust to what they got.
But now each student no matter which area he/she belongs to will have a second shot at their dreams with the NTA CUET 2022 Exam.
Good luck to one and all!
