As students gear up for various board exams across the country, all eyes have turned towards the graduating batch of the year, and in turn, their performances in the upcoming under-graduate aptitude tests.

One such test, and perhaps one of the most widely known, the JEE Main exam is right around the corner!

The JEE Main, an abbreviation for Joint Entrance Exam- Main is a standardized test that is administered by the National Testing Agency of the country.

The test allows for candidates to secure admission in varying technical degree programs, such as those centering around engineering, architecture and planning.

Interestingly enough, the test is offered in about 13 languages and has more than 1,000,000 attempters every year; talk about competition, huh?

The test is divided into three papers;

1. Paper 1 encompasses physics, chemistry and mathematics and is taken by aspirants of B.E. and B.Tech.

2. Paper 2 involves computer-based mathematics and aptitude tests while also consisting of a paper-based drawing test. This test caters for applicants of B. Arch.

3. Paper 3 constitutes mathematics, aptitude evaluation and planning based questions, attracting potential candidates of B Planning.

This year, the JEE main exam is scheduled to be held in two sessions. The first session is set to be held between June 20th and June 29th, while the second session is planned from July 21st to July 30th.

It is of the utmost importance for candidates to remember these dates.

While the JEE main has been found to be of mild to moderate difficulty by multiple analysis, it is still pertinent to note that it is not to be taken lightly.

The spirited and knowledgeable youth of the country make this exam highly competitive, leaving a success rate of barely 20%. Hence, one must stand out from the crowd and persevere through the difficult times.

To aid the JEE main aspirants, we have put together three exam hacks that will help you sail through the months building up to the exam!

1. Put on some music!

In recent years, numerous studies have shown that music has a multitude of positive effects on one’s body! For one, music activates both the left and right hemispheres of one’s brain, which leads to increased learning and improved memory.

Music has also been found to be an effective stress reducer, it has been qualitatively linked to decreased blood pressure and heart rate in addition to decreased anxiety levels.

Furthermore, music is an amazing way to process emotions and help calm one’s nerves during the overwhelming test preparation days.

Music has been proven to reduce exam anxiety in addition to the stress management properties as well. All in all, popping in your headphones can be a powerful tool to improve your learning and academic performance.

Hence, music can have a powerful effect on our daily lives and hence, one should incorporate it in order to get past the terrifyingly stressful JEE-main exam.

So, if one is feeling down, worried or overwhelmed, it might be a good idea to put on some music!

2. Teach!

What better way to learn, than to teach? Many students swear by the idea of revising through teaching.

Teaching someone else is perhaps one of the most ideal ways to learn as it tests the extent of your own understanding and command over the subject.

Plus, you’ll earn some friendship points for helping out your buddy who needs a little bit of that extra help!

Teaching is often regarded as the best test to gauge where one stands.

If you are teaching someone and realize that you are facing difficulty answering questions and queries, it might be a good idea to head back to the books and re-evaluate your grasp over the subject.

Furthermore, the idea of group study sessions can be a game changer with your JEE-main prep. Studies show that such tactics increase productivity and are a huge boost to one’s own accountability with the lengthy and droning syllabus.

With that being said, bring out your notes and supplies and help out your friends with the JEE-main preparation. Who knows, maybe it will turn into an amazing bonding experience for you!

3. Jazz up your notes!

Note-taking is an art. Students often under-estimate the lasting benefits of a good note-taking strategy. Firstly, make hand-written notes.

Studies show that handwritten notes are more effective as a learning strategy in comparison to notes made on electronics. One can also employ techniques such as memory aids and mnemonics within their notes to facilitate learning.

In addition to such techniques, simply adding visual prompts and colors to one’s notes can help recall important detail, due to the idea of mind-mapping. So bring out your stationary and creativity and let it all out on that JEE-Main prep notebook you made!

That concludes our choice for the best exam hacks. We hope they help!

Good luck JEE-Main aspirants!
