3 Exam Hacks that will guarantee success
JEE Main being a highly competitive entrance exam requires thoughtful study with a sorted out timetable. Haphazard study schedule often fails to achieve the required results.
There is a wide array of subjects that need to be thoroughly covered to ensure success and acquire admission in reputed institutions of the country.
JEE Main is a mandatory requirement in admission criteria of not only engineering but also architecture and design related fields. Some hacks to crack JEE Main have been gathered below that might ensure success.
HOW TO PREPARE
Well-sorted study plan:
With the great number of subjects to be covered, student needs to carve out a study plan and organize the contents to be covered according to the time that one has.
The topics need to be assigned time, to ensure that the whole syllabus has been covered thoroughly. The study plan needs to be time bound and must account for breaks and other activities to make it more viable and effective.
Breathers and breaks are mandatory for a student’s efficiency and hence should be added to the plan.
Not only does a study plan warrant the completion of the syllabus but also time-trains a student, enabling them to attempt the exam within the given time and be able to mentally calculate the amount of time they can dedicate to any given question in the exam.
The study plan must then be followed religiously, and one must penalize oneself for going off-plan, eventually making it a habit to tick-mark everything off the checklist of the day, leading to completion of syllabus within due time, accounting for revision and practice as well.
3Ps; Past Paper Practice:
Mere syllabus completion is not enough to ensure success, it is necessary that the candidate is well-equipped with the paper pattern and other requirements of the exam.
For JEE Main, solving past papers can be very useful as it gives the candidate a fair idea of what to expect in the exam, it also highlights the important topics that need to be reinforced.
Apart from this, time bound past paper practice would help with time management in the exam. Not only does it help control stress levels but also ensure smooth attempt of exam.
Printed past paper books are available at a number of bookshops but past papers are sometimes also available online. But, authenticity must be checked before wasting time on click-baits and faulty documents.
Solution Tips
Easy-Diff method:
To reduce time wastage and maximize output, it is advised to solve the easiest questions first, then move on to the difficult ones.
It would not only quickly solve most of the easy ones, but would sift out the difficult questions that need more time.
Not only would it help with stress management but also ensure that majority of the exam is solved before you spend time brainstorming on the harder questions.
It is also quite possible that you come up with ideas to solve the harder questions as you go along solving the easier ones.
Elimination Method:
For MCQs that you don’t seem to know the answers to, you must use the all-time effective elimination method. Start eliminating the options that can, in no way, be the answer of the MCQ.
Then eventually eliminate options that you are 70% sure cannot be the answer. You will eventually be left with only the options that are close to the answer, the chances of picking the wrong answer are very less at this point.
Hence JEE Main is not a very difficult thing to crack. Candidates need to make sure that they are well rested for them to be able to critically analyze and assess the exam questions.
It requires strategy, support and technique. It requires time management and thorough study.
ALL THE BEST!
