The ICSE English Literature Paper is designed in a way so that evaluators can check that how well students can appreciate literary writing.

Most of the students fear just the name of English Literature and getting full marks in English Literature seems to be next to impossible thing for them. But, the question is "Is it hard to score full marks in English Literature?"

If not! Then how can I get full marks in English literature?

Well, there are a few tips that you can use in your exam to get full marks in English Literature. If you religiously go with them, then there are fair chances that you can score exceptionally well in your English Literature exam.

Below are the tips that you can use to get full marks in English Literature.

1. Read the question paper thoroughly before writing the answers to those questions.

If you don’t understand the question properly then there is a high probability that you won't write the apt answers to the questions.

Most of the time, you go into panic mode after seeing the question papers that leave you blank. Therefore, you need to control that to score well in your English Literature.

2. When you come across a reference to context questions, write answers that are to the point.

Don’t try to create stories while writing these answers. Every question has a word limit and marks designated to it. If you don’t follow the instructions properly then you will be facing a downfall in your marks.

3. Don’t try to cover everything in a single paragraph. The more you are presentable while writing your answer sheet, the more marks you will grab.

If a question has different parts then try to cover them in different paragraphs rather than doing everything in a single paragraph.

4. Make sure that you cover all points from the question to avoid cutting marks.

Don't go for shortcuts and write precisely everything you know about the question being asked in the examination. But, make sure that you don't exceed the word limit.

5. Don't use any high-end vocabulary and try to put your thoughts simply on the answer sheet.

There are high chances that if you try to do something beyond a certain limit then it can cause you more harm than good.

Stick to the vocabulary that is required for answer writing and don't fall prey to talks like you need to write something extraordinary to score full marks, because there is no such mantra to score full marks.

6. If you find that the questions are related to each other then also do not repeat ideas. Try to rephrase your answers to the related questions.

It will help you put more ideas in your answer sheet without being repetitive and monotonous. Ultimately, it will help to improve your English Literature score for the board exams.

7. Use quotes and examples from the main text while attempting long answer questions. This will help the examiner understand your level of understanding of the various concepts.

Further, it will add to your marks in English Literature.
