CUET Exam or Common University Entrance Test is a common entrance exam that will be conducted by NTA for admission to UG courses across all the Central Universities in the country.

 

You can get admission to any of the central universities based on your scores on the CUET exam. Now, the consideration of class 12 board exam scores is scrapped to offer an equal opportunity level to all the students.

 

To score well in the CUET exam, you must have a clear idea about the number of questions that you need to attempt in the stipulated time.

 

CUET exam will be held online as a Computer Based Test (CBT). The duration of the exam will be based upon the slots opted for the exam.

 

Slot 1 can take up to 3 hours 15 minutes whereas slot 2 can take up to 3 hours 45 minutes based upon the number of options or subjects that you choose in each slot.

 

CUET exam will be conducted in 13 languages to offer a unified platform for all the class 12 students to easily attempt the exam.

 

There will be overall three sections in the CUET exam and the total number of questions vary in each section. You need to be very cautious of the number of questions to prepare exceptionally well for the CUET exam.

 

There will be 40 questions in sections IA & IB that you need to answer for each subject you choose from a total of 50 questions per subject. 

 

For section II, there will be 40 questions that you have to attempt out of 50 questions for each domain-specific subject that you choose from 27-domain specific subjects in this section.

 

For every subject you choose in sections IA, IB, and II, you will have a time window of 45 minutes.

 

Section III will be a general section in which you have to attempt 60 questions from an overall of 75 questions. You will have a time limit of 60 minutes to attempt this section.

 

Your time frame will be based on the number of subjects that you choose in each section. For choosing the subjects for the CUET exam, you must be sure about the eligibility criteria for the universities to which you seek admission.

 

If you attempt a question correctly then you will be awarded 5 marks and if you attempt any question incorrectly then 1 mark will be deducted.

 

On the other hand, if you don’t attempt any question then no rewards will be given for that question.

 

Most people are of the notion that the CUET exam will favor the CBSE candidates because they have already studied the NCERT curriculum in class 12.

 

But, authorities have made it clear that the CUET exam came into the picture to offer an impartial admission process to the students so that every student is evaluated at the same level irrespective of the board in which they studied.

 

The registration process for the CUET exam had already started on April 6, 2022, and will end on May 6, 2022. You need to fill out the registration form online to appear for the CUET exam.

 

If you want to excel in the CUET exam then you need to have a command over all the subjects that you are applying for in the exam.

 

The exam is expected to be conducted in the first or second week of July. So, you have enough time on your hand to prepare well for the exam.
