Introduction
MBA Entrance Exams in India are all about the CAT exam, which stands for Common Admission Test. The CAT exam is taken by around 2 million people every year in order to get admission to the best business schools in India, such as the IIMs.
In addition to the IIMs, a variety of IITs, FMS, NITIE, MDI, SP Jain, and other business schools accept CAT exam scores.
Question types according to difficulty level
When it comes to difficulty, CAT exam questions can be categorized into three groups:
1. Easy
2. Medium
3. Hard
Easy level questions
Students who perform in the upper 90 percentile of their class can typically complete these CAT exam’s questions in under one minute on average.
Easy questions in Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability can be found in the range of 7 to 8 is to be seen in CAT exam. If you can finish a Reading Comprehension passage in less than ten or twelve minutes, it is regarded to be easy.
1-2 sections are going to be simple for you. There will be one or two sets that are on the easier side in Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation in the CAT exam. There are no guarantees, though.
Medium Level questions
These are questions that take a little more time to answer than the more straightforward ones. Some medium difficulty level questions are also necessary to achieve a high score.
As a CAT exam aspirant, you will have areas where you excel and places where you struggle. When it comes to your strongest areas, you should be able to handle queries up to a medium level.
A large percentage of the CAT exam is comprised of the following types of questions: 1.
Hard Level questions
Do not attempt questions like these on the CAT exam. In order to derail the student's efforts, these are offered. To divert their attention away from the situation. To entice the pupil and make him or her lose time.
CAT exam aspirant's most valuable talent is the ability to swiftly identify and avoid the most difficult questions on the exam.
Who may take the CAT exam?
Bachelor's degree appearing for CAT exam with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA [45 percent in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
Candidates in their last year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification exams and those who have finished degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
Note that if one of these candidates is chosen for the CAT exam, they can only begin the programme on the condition that they provide a certificate from their university/principal/registrar, institution's stating that they have completed all requirements for earning a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification on the date on which the certificate is issued.
In the CAT exam, there are two sorts of questions that are asked:
1. Objective Type Questions
2. ‘Type in the Answer’ Type Questions
CAT exam aspirants are only allowed to choose one right answer out of five in objective type questions. Three points are awarded to the candidate who correctly chooses the correct answer in the CAT exam.
Choosing the incorrect answer will result in an immediate deduction of one mark from your overall score. No points are given if a candidate fails to attempt a question or fails to answer it.
In 'Type in the answer' questions in the CAT exam, a space is provided for the candidate to enter his or her response. The applicant receives 3 marks if the answer provided by the student is an exact match to the correct answer.
If there is no precise match or the candidate chooses to skip the question, the candidate receives a score of 0 in the CAT exam.
