EFFECT OF CUTOFF ON POSTPONEMENT?
We have seen drastic increase in cutoff marks in recent years due to various reasons. One of the major reason for the increase in those numbers are because of the extra time students get due to the postponement of the examination. Since last two years due to Covid-19 outbreak, NEET exam was conducted in the month of September (which was expected to be conducted in the month of May).
This extra time helped students to thoroughly revise the course and go through their weak points multiple times. This eventually led to development in overall performance of the students all over the country and ultimately rise in cutoff was seen.
NEET UPPER AGE LIMIT SCRAPPED!
According to the latest reports of the NEET-UG 2022, National Medical Commission (NMC) scrapped the upper age limit for the upcoming NEET-UG examination from this year. Earlier, the upper age limit was of 25 years for unreserved and 30 years for reserved category.
Admissions to various courses other than medical like paramedical courses, veterinary courses and Ayush courses are also done in reference to the marks scored in NEET. NTA NEET is all set to be conducted in pen and paper mode in order to fill 90,825 MBBS and 27,948 BDS seats.
With the removal of the upper age limit criteria, many more students can appear this examination and serve for the welfare of the nation.
