A new entrance test Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is going to be conducted this year for the first time by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into various Undergraduate/Integrated and postgraduate courses in all the Central Universities for 2022-23 academic sessions.
This test will be single window tests which will provide a common ground and equal opportunities to High school passing students across the country to seek admission into their desired central university.
This will primarily help quality higher education to reach wider to students from rural and other remote areas to get into Central Universities.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct this exam. NTA will be handling the registration process, conduct of the test, release of answer key, and preparation and declaration of the result and Score Card.
While the final merit list and individual counseling will be handled by participating Universities on the basis of results and score card provided by the NTA.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) in 13 languages, namely English, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, and Urdu.
The question paper of NTA CUET 2022 Exam will have a compulsory language test, two domain-specific tests, and a general test.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam scores will be accepted by 44 Central Universities and other private universities. The NTA CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in 547 cities within India and 13 cities abroad.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam application process started on April 6, 2022 and the last date of application is May 6, till 5 pm.
Only the successful application fee transactions made till 11.50 pm on the same date will be considered complete. Further important dates and events to follow can be found below.

NTA CUET 2022 Exam Application Form
Students can fill out the NTA CUET 2022 Exam application form by visiting the official website of the exam. The first step will be to enter the basic personal and contact details.
In this step, a system generated application number and login credentials will be obtained.
You have to use it to log into the system which will ask you to fill the application form with your detailed personal and academic details, programme preference, city of examination and desired university.
You will also have to upload your documents like photograph, signature, Certificate of Class X, Certificate of reserved category in the prescribed format and size.
After the form is filled, students will have to pay the NTA CUET 2022 Exam application fee online via debit/credit card, Net Banking, Paytm and UPI Services.

NTA CUET 2022 Exam Eligibility Criteria
1. There is no age limit for the candidates appearing in NTA CUET 2022 Exam. However, the candidate has to fulfil any age criteria set by the University of their choice.
2. Students who have passed Class 12 from a Recognized Board/Equivalent or are appearing in the same will be eligible for admission to Undergraduate programmes in the Central Universities subject to securing a minimum of 50 per cent in Class 12 for general and 45 per cent for SC/ST students respectively.
3. The existing policies regarding quota, category, qualification, subject combinations, relaxation, reservations, preferences etc. of a student’s desired University will be applicable in NTA CUET 2022 Exam.
4. The eligibility criteria can be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website before applying.
NTA CUET 2022 Exam Scheme
Mode of Examination
NTA CUET 2022 Exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT).
Medium of Examination
The NTA CUET 2022 Exam will be offered in 13 languages of India i.e. Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Urdu.
A student can choose any language in respect of the Domain Specific Subjects and the General Test as the medium of the exam.
Here Medium is not the same as the “Language” test which will be a different section of the exam. “Language” test will be used for assessing the proficiency/skills of the student in the Language opted.
The Question Paper of the Domain Specific Subjects and general test will be bi-lingual and the “Language” Test will not be bi-lingual.
The pattern of Question Paper
NTA CUET 2022 Exam will be conducted in Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Design of the Question Paper
There will be three Sections:
Section 1A - 13 Languages (As a medium and “Language”)
Section 1B - 20 Languages
Section 2 - 27 Domain-Specific Subjects
Section 3 - General Test
A student will have the option to choose any Language/Domain specific Subjects/ General Test or their combination as required for admission to a specified course of their desired University.
Syllabus of NTA CUET 2022 Exam
Section 1A & 1B - Language will be tested in Reading Comprehension by using different types of passages, Literary, Narrative and Vocabulary methods.
Section 2 - The syllabus for domain-specific subjects will be available on the NTA website.
Section 3 – Questions of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, and Logical & Analytical Reasoning
