Are you suffering from all the problems in your head right now? Do you think the preparation fooled you? Why is all hell unleashed? Are you worried that your selection test didn't work very well and your board didn't work either?


Or do you feel snoozed because you made your choice so well that you can no longer concentrate? Wherever your mind stands right now, take a look at this article for a few exam-ready tips and an outline on how to prepare for board exams.



1. Choosing your study spot:


Let's start with your comfort first, choose a spot where you feel comfortable, connect to the background setting, and focus.


For example, some might stick to the study table/study table; others might choose their garden. It takes time to try this element, so you need to give yourself enough time to know what you are used to.


While selecting the spot, consider these points:


i) Is there proper lighting?


ii) Are all your distractions out of your sight? (including food items as well; studying and eating never go hand in hand)


iii) Is the chair you will be sitting on most of the time comfortable?


iv) Will this area be hindered often by visitors? (e.g. drawing-room)


v) Are there plants around? A research study conducted at Exeter University in the U.K. found that indoor plants can improve concentration, productivity, and staff well-being by 47%. They also discovered that plants could boost memory by up to 20%



2. Notes


Use different coloured pens to highlight essential points in your notes. Notes with pencil or blue/black pen can be monotonous and boring to look at.


Stick them around to make vision boards on a particular wall or your closet door or anywhere else you might attend at different times.


The notes on each vision board will stick in your mind. Picture paintings can be in your bedroom or wherever you tend to go more often.



3. Time management


Nobody can study 24x7. There has to be a balance in your routine. Design a timetable that includes study hours with breaks between them, some leisure time, time for meals, and most importantly, time to sleep.


Give the subject sufficient time, depending on the difficulty level. Do not record all subjects at the same time. If you already have one, synchronize your study plan with your exam plan.


In the meantime, create weekly routines for each topic. There is no alternative to starting early to save review time. Plan the iterations and consider the time required for each subject.


Think about when and how much you want to study every day. Make the most of your time.



4. Rekindling the strained house


Remember when you used to memorize the number of days in a month on your knuckles? Little were you aware this is one of the many mnemonics, but what mnemonics are?


A mnemonic is usually a phrase that makes things easier to learn, whether it makes any sense or not. You can make your mnemonics according to convenience using colours, words, objects, names, fingers, knuckles, anything.


E.g., My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas, which refer to the nine planets in the increasing order of their distance from the Sun.

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.


Visualize information through mind maps. Mind maps are simple radial diagrams of interconnected elements. For instance, you can write down names, dates, numbers, etc., inboxes and correlate them as needed.


Be it basic English grammar or writing an essay, this technique makes it easier for you.



5. Reward yourself


After achieving a particular goal (be it completing the tricky chapter or completing the syllabus of a subject), reward yourself with a bar of chocolate (the darker, the better), a quick 10-minute break, or maybe just a pat on your back this will keep you motivated and boost your spirit.



6. Heal and fuel your body


You should fuel your body and brain by choosing "functional" foods that have been shown to aid focus and memory, such as nuts, seeds, yoghurt, lemons, sweet potatoes, yams, carrots, blueberries, or possibly fish, milk, and eggs if you like.


Maintain a workout schedule if you don't have one. Sugary treats may lure you, but STOP because your energy level from sugar will plummet for almost an hour or so! Get enough sleep.


Adequacy levels vary between individuals, but around 6-8 hours is good, and keep a check on your screen time.


Do not forget last-minute cramming is not the key; concentration is!
