There are ways of enhancing the teaching to such a level that affect the learning significantly and children focus more on what is taught. Below are five special pedagogy techniques that a teacher needs to adopt to change the approach to learning. 

Flipped Classroom

The flipped classroom combines the normal teaching strategy. In this method, the lecturer conveys most of the content in a lesson and the student learns most of the content through pre-recorded online tutorials.  Through this aspect, the students can rewrite what he/she has noted in class from the comfort of their house before the class. Thus it saves time for group activities.

  • Use video lectures for self-study before a class. 
  • Focus on speaking and discussion, as well as giving and suggesting topics and collaboration in the class.

2. Project-Based Learning (PBL)

Project-based learning is a learning approach that takes place when the students themselves engage themselves in completing real-life projects. They are based on the context being attached to the student’s real life and future professions. It helps the students to enhance their skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

3. Gamification

The application of game elements in the process of studying can make it more interesting and effective. Therefore, gamification incorporates points, which come along with an assortment of other features, like leaderboards and quests to encourage learners.

In this process, students discuss texts and state their ideas. This teaching approach promotes in-depth analysis and comprehension of the subject matter.

  • Promotes freedom of speech.

Example: Analyse the reasons behind the historical events and the consequences with the help of primary sources. 

5. Blended Learning

This approach to teaching and learning complement each other because they tackle learning from different perspectives. Hence, they serve the purpose of different styles and paces in learning.

  • Blends technology naturally into teaching and learning.

  • Use a set of electronic instruments and classroom assignments.

  • Provide appropriate learning materials with and without face-to-face interaction. 

Example: To support the concepts done in class, undertake a variety of in-class science experiments and virtual simulation labs.
