Is There an Age Limit for CAT 2026?
As per the eligibility guidelines based on CAT 2025 and previous years, the IIMs do not prescribe any minimum or maximum age limit for appearing in the CAT exam. This policy has remained consistent for over a decade. Both young graduates appearing for the first time and working professionals re-appearing after several years are equally eligible.
This openness is intentional — CAT is designed to assess aptitude, not age. The IIMs value diversity of experience, and many candidates who score top percentiles are working professionals with several years of industry experience.
