CBSE Class 2 Syllabus 2026-27
The CBSE Class 2 syllabus for 2026-27 continues the NEP 2020 Foundational Stage framework that began in Class 1. At this stage, children transition from purely oral and activity-based learning to more independent reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning on paper. The three core NCERT textbooks — Mridang (English), Joyful Mathematics, and Sarangi 2 (Hindi) — are official reprints for the 2026-27 session.
Class 2 is an important year. Children begin reading full sentences, solving written number problems, and constructing their own sentences in Hindi and English. The curriculum remains play-based and activity-led, but the academic expectations move a notch higher than Class 1.
