Some questions related to the Magnetic effects of electric current
What is the Oersted experiment?
When an electric current is passed through any current-carrying conductor, it generates a magnetic field around itself. Now, this magnetic field can be studied by the use of a magnetic needle that shows deflection. When more current will flow, the needle will show a lot of deflection. Also, if we reverse the direction of the current then the direction of deflection of the needle will also be reversed.
Why do magnetic field lines never intersect each other?
Magnetic field lines can never intersect each other because if they intersect then at that point, the compass needle will show two directions of the magnetic field at the same point which isn't possible.
Is wearing magnets or magnetic objects harmful in any way?
Magnetic fields have a lot of advantages as they're used as a diagnostic tool in the medical field. But they can significantly cause harm to the body and increase the chances of accidents.
