You will require Class 10 certificate, Class 12 details, a photo, a signature and ID proof for JEE Main 2027 registration. Reserved category candidates also require a category certificate. PwD candidates need a disability certificate.

Documents Required for JEE Main 2027 Registration: Complete List

Photo ID Proof

You need a valid ID proof. Aadhaar Card is the preferred one. NTA also accepts other ID proofs like: Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, Ration Card, and School Photo ID. 

Your name and date of birth should match your Class 10 certificate. Requests for correction are often due to an incompatibility.

Class 10 Marksheet or Certificate

NTA uses this to verify your name and date of birth. In the 2026 process, it was uploaded by the applicants. Be sure to check out the 2027 notification.

Class 12 Details/Hall Ticket

Keep your Class 12 details handy, like your board, roll number, year and school name. You don't have to upload your Class 12 marksheet while registering. Whether you are appearing for Class 12 or have passed, enter details exactly as they appear on your board.

Photograph (Passport Size)

Use a recent photograph. NTA sets out the size, format and background rules in the bulletin. In 2026, NTA also took live photographs during NTA JEE registration. Have a working webcam available in case the same rule applies.

Signature

Sign on white paper with a dark pen. Clear scan. File size and format as per the NTA.

Certificate of Category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS)

Use your latest certificate in your name. See notification for issue date and validity rules. Read those lines carefully because OBC-NCL and EWS certificates have stricter validity rules than SC and ST certificates.

PwD Certificate

Upload a clear scan of the certificate issued by the competent authority. Make sure your name, type of disability and percentage are clearly visible.”

Other Things to Have Ready

• An email ID and mobile number you use regularly. NTA sends all updates there.

• Your present and permanent address.

• Mode of payment for fee (card, net banking or UPI)

Photo, Signature & Document Upload Instructions

Specs vary from year to year, and sources differ on exact number. Use only the 2027 bulletin figures. Until it’s out, here’s what’s still the same:

• Photo: A recent, clear, passport-size photograph in the prescribed format and size of NTA.

• Signature: Your own signature on white paper, scanned in the format and size as set by NTA.

• Documents: Scan each document flat, fully and in a readable size.

• Live Photo: Prepare to take a photo on your webcam.

• No dark glasses or cap

• Check the size of each file before you upload it

• Make sure to name each file so that you don't mix them up

Step by Step: How to Fill JEE Main 2027 Application Form

Step 1: Sign Up with Your Mobile Number and Email

Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on the new candidate option. Fill in your basic details, mobile number, and email ID. Your application number and password are generated by the portal.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form

Log in and provide your personal and Class 12 details. Select your preferred exam city and paper medium. Cross-check all the fields with your documents.

Stage 3: Upload Documents

Upload your photo, signature, and other documents as the NTA requires. Preview files before saving them.

Step 4: Fee Payment

Pay fee Online & Keep the receipt of payment.

Step 5: Download Confirmation Screen

Download the confirmation page and save it. You might need it later.

Common Mistakes To Avoid Rejection of JEE Main Applications

• Name mismatch. Write your name as it appears in your Class 10 certificate

• Scan is fuzzy. Rescan in good lighting

• Wrong file size/format. Please check the notification before you upload 

• Expired category certificate. Apply with a fresh one. 

• Old photograph. Use a recent one.

• Incorrect Email ID or Mobile number. NTA sends updates there only.

• Deadline missed. Apply early, not on the last day

• No confirmation page. Download it before you close the page
