The exam pattern and syllabus will remain the same.

Why Was the Original NEET UG 2026 Exam Cancelled?
The original NEET (UG) 2026 was conducted on May 3, 2026, across more than 5,400 centers in 551 Indian cities and 14 cities abroad. Shortly after the exam, serious allegations of a question paper leak emerged from multiple centers.
Investigations revealed that the leaked paper was circulated on WhatsApp and Telegram groups the night before the exam. A whistleblower tip-off helped authorities trace the leak across cities, including Nashik, Jaipur, Gurugram, and Sikar. In Maharashtra's Latur, a parent complained that a local coaching institute had conducted a mock test before the actual exam, and reportedly 42 questions from that mock matched the real NEET paper.
On May 8, NTA referred the matter to central agencies. By May 12, after reviewing investigative findings from law enforcement, including the CBI, the NTA NEET re-exam was formally announced, and the May 3 exam was scrapped entirely. The decision was taken to protect the interests of honest students and maintain the credibility of India's largest medical entrance examination.
