CLAT Result 2027 – Score Card, Rank List, Merit List & Counselling Process

The CLAT 2027 Result will be declared by the Consortium of National Law Universities on the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in, tentatively in the third week of December 2026, shortly after the release of the final answer key. The result is released in PDF format and contains the candidate's All India Rank (AIR), total marks, and category rank.

For reference, the CLAT 2026 result was declared on 16 December 2025, following the exam held on 7 December 2025.

After the result, the Consortium conducts 5 rounds of online counselling based on merit-cum-preference:

In case two or more candidates score equal marks, the Consortium uses the following tie-breaking criteria in order:

CLAT 2027 Result – What to Do After Checking

  • If rank is within top 500: Target NLSIU, NALSAR, NUJS — participate in Round 1 counselling eagerly

  • If rank is 500–2000: Target top 10 NLUs; use Float option for upgrades

  • If rank is 2000–5000: Target mid-tier NLUs; consider newer NLUs with quality programmes

  • If rank is above 5000: Consider private law schools accepting CLAT scores (JGLS, Nirma, NMIMS, etc.)

The CLAT 2027 result is a gateway not just a number. Understanding your rank and using the counselling process strategically is what determines your final NLU.
